DECA

Students will learn the basic components of the economy and how it affects them on as well as their financial future.  Students will be put in personal scenarios to test their adaptable to the financial world through their knowledge of baseline economics in order to have a bright financial future.

 

Step One: Pretest

• Students are to complete provided pretest containing questions pertaining to the keys components of the economy to measure baseline of knowledge.

• Teacher answer key provided.

Step Two: Vocabulary

• Students are to complete provided vocabulary worksheet.

• Teacher answer key provided.

 

Step Three: Deal or No Deal

• Students will participate in simple hand-run version of the popular game show “Deal or No Deal” to demonstrate expected value and risk attitudes.

• Students can use activity to make calculations and demonstrate the diminishing marginal utility of income.

• Activity direction provided.

• Post-activity discussion worksheet provided.

• Students are to complete provided post test containing questions pertaining to the keys components of the economy from throughout the lesson to measure obtained knowledge.
